Sunny Day Farms - Donate
Now that a lot of us have seen how nice and peaceful Sunny Day Farms Animal Sanctuary is, please feel free to make a donation to the farm. Brooke and the rest of the crew are always in need of help to get the farm up and running by its June opening. Also, she is constantly in need of funds to keep the place going.

Sunny Day Farms Animal Sanctuary pictures continued.
Thanks to everyone who came out to our Farm Sanctuary event! It was a lot of fun and very educational. We’d like to thank Brooke for all her hard work and dedication to the animal rights cause. Also, thanks to Jill for the amazing photos she took!
In addition to our Sunny Day Farms Animal Sanctuary event, University Vegetarians will be teaming up with SACA (Students Against Cruelty to Animals) to host a screening of The Cove later in the semester. The Cove is an Academy Award-winning documentary about the annual slaughtering of dolphins in Wakayama, Japan. The film garnered rave reviews for its combination of documentary focus and thrilling espionage. Jeannette Catsoulis of The New York Times noted that the film is “an exceptionally well-made documentary that unfolds like a spy thriller.” The Cove is definitely a must see for all people concerned with animal rights.
Veg fact of the day
To add to the fact of the day post: the 10 billion farm animals that die every year only account for the United States, and not the rest of the world. Imagine just how many are killed all over the WORLD!
Lawyers for animals? The Swiss are considering it and we should too.
Swiss voters will go to the polls March 7 to decide whether each of the country’s 26 cantons (similar to states) should be obligated to appoint a special attorney to represent pets and farm animals in court in cases of alleged abuse. Texas needs the same initiative.

Farmers there are opposed to the initiative, but why?
Not Grass-Fed, but at Least Pain-Free
The New York Times recently published an article by this title discussing the possibility of genetically engineering animals to not feel pain. Here is the link to it for anyone interested.

Sir Paul McCartney presents “If Slaughterhouses Had Glass Walls…”
A shocking and informative video narrated by Sir Paul McCartney. Please watch if you’re considering going vegetarian or vegan. It’s a powerful call to action.

Ricky Williams is currently one of the most famous players in the NFL. He is also a graduate of UT! While at UT, Ricky was chosen as a Football All-American for 1997 and 1998, and he won the 1998 Heisman Trophy. While many recognize Ricky for his on-the-field work, we would like to recognize Ricky for his animal rights advocacy! Ricky is a vegetarian and has worked tirelessly to promote vegetarianism/veganism through his work with PETA. In addition, he owns a vegetarian/vegan restaurant in Miami, Florida. Keep making us proud Ricky! Hook em’ horns! :)
If you love animals called pets, why do you eat animals called dinner?
